报告摘要🦸🏻‍♂️：Understanding the structure-properties relations of electrocatalytic interfaces on molecular scales is of both fundamental and applied importance. In this presentation, I will discuss how the distribution and hydrogen-bonding connection of water molecules in the electric double layers vitally impact the potentials of zero charge (PZCs) and charging behaviors of metal electrodes, and accordingly their electrocatalytic behaviors for the hydrogen and oxygen electrode reactions. It will also be shown that the combination of ab-initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations, in-situ surface-enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRAS), and computational vibration spectra can effectively unveil the complex structures of electrocatalytic interfaces.
